As long as I can remember I was always excited about creating art. Meir Moses, who was my mentor after school hours taught model sketching, etching, and woodcutting in our community center.
In 1986 I was introduced in to quilting . that was the beginning of my love for textiles and creating original work in fiber, fabric, and thread. I enjoy working with a variety of fibers: Commercial, hand painted or printed cottons, silk, chiffon, etc. Oil paint lettering," thread paint" and hand embroidery are added for texture. My photographs taken on daily walks are the base of many quilts. I am inspired by nature, Japanese motifs, and my own family history.
I am a member of the Northern Star Quilt Guild, Studio Art Quilt Associates, Fiber Art North East, the Ossining Arts Council, the Israel Quilters Association, SDA, TSGNY and Fiberarts Guild of Pittsburgh.
I was lucky to have my quilts get accepted and earn local and international recognition and awards. I exhibited abroad in the UK, France, the Netherlands, Canada, Taiwan, and Israel. In the United States, my work has been featured in exhibitions in Houston, TX; New Hope, PA; Des Moines, IA; the Gerald Ford Museum in Grand Rapids, MI; and in the Tri-state Region.
Today, I enjoy retirement from teaching, creating art. I live with my family in Ossining, NY.
