Working on the Cacti series was very special. I grew up in the middle east seeing the cactus growing wild everywhere, thinking that this cactus was a native…..if you are an Israeli born you are called “Sabra”. I was surprised to learn it is a native of Mexico . the shape and silhouette, was a vehicle to many metaphorical ideas. it became the silent voice for immigrants, violence victims, and LGBQT issues.
